Founded in 2002, BOSSA Group has a legacy of 23 successful years in the Steakhouse and bar industry. Pieter van der Westhuizen and his partners Braam Swart and Savva Savvas wanted to establish an authentic and elegant restaurant emphasising the rich heritage and tradition of the nostalgic but exclusive American steakhouse, hence the creation of Jackson & Black.
Jackson & Black is where perfectly aged prime steak meets classical handcrafted cocktails. This bastion of unabashed self-indulgence is therefore where the romantic couple or corporate crowd choose to frequent. The classic interior and aesthetics of Jackson Black are offset by contemporary crisp lines, bold colours and textures of leather, wood and steel thereby creating a perfect blend of the old and the new. The first Jackson Black was opened in the winelands of the Cape and the second in the suburban surrounds of Cape Town.

With more than 23 years in the steakhouse and bar industry, the founders of the celebrated BOSSA Group, Pieter van der Westhuizen, Braam Swart and Savva Savvas set out to craft a restaurant that honoured the timeless soul of the classic American steakhouse, yet felt unmistakably grounded in South African warmth and hospitality.

Our journey began in the Cape Winelands, where our first restaurant opened its doors. The community embraced us, and from that foundation we grew into the greater Cape Town region, each location carrying forward the same ethos: classic, confident and committed to excellence. We are proud to serve our guests in three distinct neighbourhoods, each with its own personality yet united by the Jackson & Black experience.
